美国苜蓿草产自干旱少雨、丰富水资源和便利交通的美国西部地区，得益于科罗拉多河的灌溉，是美国最优质，产能最大的苜蓿草生产基地，我司进口优质南加州非转基因苜蓿干草，天然晒干的苜蓿不仅保留自然的芬芳，柔软的纤维保证了高产奶牛最佳的反刍效果。
种植面积约960万公顷，占世界紫花苜蓿种植面积的33%，年产量7000万吨，出口约占产量10%，年产种子5万余吨，单位面积产量和总产量持续增加，归因于：品种（育种），
1、生产工艺种植管理程序：确定种植区域；进行区域土壤测试，确定n、p、k含量，根据结果选择牧草品种；改良土壤（ph5.15~6.15）及施肥；选择合适的播种时间，春播3-4月，秋播9-10月。播种方式主要采用播种机满天星撒播，然后机器镇压，使种子和土壤充分接触；接种根瘤菌和圆心喷灌技术，提高产量；使用除草剂，降低杂草率；掌握刈割时间尤其是第一茬，提高后续产量和质量；进行轮作，苜蓿与小麦玉米及禾本科牧草轮作，3-4年轮换一次，因固氮作用是土壤肥力明显提高，可减少氮肥使用情况下种植玉米小麦。
2、加工：有快速脱水干燥法和自然风干法；前者刈割后用烘干机快速脱水烘干粉碎、包装储存；后者刈割后成行摊晒于田间，自然风干后进行打捆机收集，初次打捆存放在田间，待初步评估苜蓿质量并采样分析后，分级存放于仓库；最后根据客户需求选择二次打捆、包装出仓。
