1、生产情况
西班牙为世界第二大苜蓿草出口国，年产量140万吨。ebro河谷为主产区，其产量占西班牙总产量的80%。
2、西班牙烘干苜蓿草的特点
和美国自然摊晒的工艺不同，西班牙苜蓿草收割后摊晒一天，第二天翻晒，到第三天苜蓿草水分降低到30%-35%即收集到工厂经250℃高温烘干，此时苜蓿草水分通常在10%以内，故又称脱水苜蓿草。
烘干脱水苜���草有以下几个优点：
1）因叶片中含蛋白较高，西班牙工艺在水分30%时即收集加工，较美国摊晒干（水分12%）再收集的工艺保留更多叶片；
2）烘干工艺使苜蓿草秆水分均匀度更高，有效杜绝打捆时发生板结现象；
3）水分低，均匀度高，tmr搅拌效果更好；
4）烘干工艺迅速脱水，最大程度降低茎叶的生物呼吸、分解活动，更好的保持养分；
5）高温烘干杀灭霉菌等有害菌，黄萎病等生物威胁；
6）非转基因，清关风险低，供应更稳定；
